Department of PSYCHIATRY

The Psychiatry department of the People’s Hospital is a unit of hospital that is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness. The department is staffed by psychiatrists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who are specially trained in the care of patients with mental illness. The department runs regular out-patient and in-patient services. We provide multiple Specialty clinics like De-addiction, Geriatric psychiatry clinic, Women Mental Health clinic, Children and adolescent clinic along with Consultation liaison services and Emergency psychiatric services. In addition to medical management, psychological treatments we also provide modified electro convulsive therapy. The OPD services are available on all working days ( except Sundays and government holidays) while the emergency services are available round the clock. The department has 40 beds for in patient services
